Dorset set in South West England is famous for its holiday resorts such as Bournemouth , Weymouth , Poole and Lyme Regis. The county borders four other counties namely , Devon , Wiltshire , Somerset and Hampshire.
Dorset Calendar Details
The Dorset Calendar often features the 11th century Corfe Castle which is also the village. Whilst the castle is at least 800 years old there is evidence that people inhabited the area from 6000BC.
The calendar also portrays regularly St. Oswald`s Bay , the harbour at Lyme Regis and the beach and pier at Bournemouth. The long shingle beach at Chesil some 29km long is also mentioned and there`s also Thomas Hardy`s cottage at Higher Bockhampton. Finally , the Minster at Wimborne is featured , famous for housing the tomb of King Ethelred the brother of Alfred the Great.
